LLAA Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament

2008 Tournament Flyer

In June of 2000, the Lawrence Lions Alumni Association held it’s 1st “Scholarship Golf Tournament” It has continued each year since then All proceeds from the Annual golf tournament go to the LLAA Scholarship fund and the Hall of Honor. Because of the success of the tournament, the association has be able to offer 10 to 12 scholarships each year to deserving seniors.

Each year the Lawrence Lion Alumni Association give scholarship to graduating seniors.

We look for students who have contributed to LHS by participating in many school and/ or community activities, who are good citizens and who have expressed a desire to further their education, but who will not be receiving scholarship money from another source (academic, athletic, the arts).

We try to find candidates who without our help would probably not be able to continue their education. Additionally we try to find those who are seeking training at a vocational, trade school, or Junior College

LLAA Tournament Format

The tournament is held each June, on a Saturday morning at Alvamar Golf Course in Lawrence.

The morning of golf is followed by a cookout and awards presentation at the course.  It is a 4 person scramble format, limited to the first 36 teams. You need not be an Alumni or a good golfer to play. Those wishing to play that do not have a complete 4 person team will be paired with others needing partners. It is open to men, women, and children. Prizes are given to the top 3 places in 3 flights. There are also lots of giveaways and “skill”contests on each hole.
